From this week's readings and activities, I found it really insightful that although my schedules will always be busy and crammed with work, studies, and family, I should never pass up on spending valuable time with my family and serving the Lord. The legacy I will live behind is how I spent time with my family and how I help build the Lord's kingdom here on Earth. I need to learn how to be disciplined and set ground rules for myself to ensure I spend the most time with my family and serving others. At the end of the day, I need to remind myself the Lord and my family are my motivations to work hard and obtain economic success so that my family can live a happy and comfortable life and so I can give back to my community.  For my entrepreneurial journey I must constantly update my knowledge of the industries I am passionate about. Only by keeping myself up to date, can I discover an opportunity for me to market and sell and find extraordinary success and my next project. Being...

While watching the "A Hero's Journey" video, I took a lot of valuable information and lesson from it. I liked the three promises mentioned that Action school makes to its students: they will learn how to learn, they will learn how to make money, and they will learn how to live a life of meaning. I find it interesting that the education of how to make money was mentioned as the least important. The speaker emphasized that the other two promises are much more important. He also mentioned that when we reach the end of our lives, we will ask ourselves three important questions: did I contribute something meaningful?, was I a good person?, and who did I love, and who loved me? I found it notable that the questions we ask ourselves doesn't include how much money we made or the fame we achieved.  My main takeaway from this video and this lecture is that "A Hero's Journey" includes learning from others, dedicating your time to a career you are passionate about...

This week's readings and videos covered the topic of being honest and having valuable business ethics. In today's world it can be easy to follow everyone else's example of acquiring wealth and earthly possessions in order to compete. Nowadays, many people worry about obtaining more power at the expense of others. With this week's readings and videos, I reflected on what my motivations are. I am working to obtain a better job, furthering my education to graduate with my degree, and to start my career. My primary motivation is to finish my studies and obtain my degree in order to provide a better quality of life for my family. I want to continually further my education and improve my skills and talents because I know my Heavenly Father wants me to succeed in order for my family to be blessed both temporally and spiritually. I took to heart the eternal principles I read about this week. I really had to reflect on how my dealings are with my fellow coworkers and emplo...

Randy Pausch was able to achieve so many of his childhood dreams for three reasons. First, his parents allowed him to express his creativity and be a "master of his domain". His parents allowed him to write mathematical formulas on his bedroom walls, regardless of all of the marks he would leave on there. That showed the tremendous support his parents had for him and were willing to allow him to pursue the career that he wanted without any pressure. Second, he always had a great attitude and accepted the wise counsel of others. He took to heart the lesson to "wait long enough and people will surprise and impress you". I am sure there were moments where he felt anger or disdain towards other people but allowed time to pass until he felt better about them. This is great advice for all of us because we can be quick to judge and react or allow ourselves to jump to conclusions about how someone made us feel at a particular moment. Third, he showed resilience and determin...
